Gippsland’s substantial tourism economy is underpinned by an abundance of unique visitor experiences

Tourism

Gippsland’s substantial tourism economy is underpinned by an abundance of unique visitor experiences, from food and hospitality opportunities to nature-based attractions like Wilson’s Promontory, the Australian Alps, Lakes Entrance and Croajingolong National Park.

World-class produce and natural settings make the region unrivalled as a space where the city meets the country. More than 65 per cent of Gippsland is given over to state-owned forests and parks, making nature-based tourism one of the most expansive industry sectors in the region.

To help continue this growth, the region has a large proportion of appropriately skilled workers supported by a strong established partnership between major providers of education, training and employment. Hi-Tech Precinct Gippsland will act as a gateway to further strengthen these connections between tourism businesses, research and industry.
